Barnwell PV 1, LLC, a solar solutions company, today announced plans to establish operations in Barnwell County. The company is investing $75 million into the project. 

Founded in 2010, Barnwell PV 1, LLC is a leading developer of renewable energy generation facilities. The company develops, constructs, owns and operates renewable energy projects at utility scale in six countries. 

Located on Patterson Mill Road in Snelling, the company’s new facility is expected to be operational by June 2023.

Hannah Solar Government Services has been selected to design and construct a 490kW roof mounted solar PV (photovoltaic) system for Z-Man Fishing Products, Inc. in Ladson, South Carolina.

Z-Man Fishing Products is a South Carolina based fishing lure brand that supplies products to fishermen around the world. Z-Man is one of the fastest-growing lure brands in the United States, sold nationwide in stores such as Bass Pro Shops, Walmart, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Their facility in Ladson, SC is responsible for all of Z Man’s manufacturing.

Berkeley Lab’s annual Tracking the Sun report describes trends among grid-connected, distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in the United States. The latest edition of the report is based on data from roughly 2.2 million systems, covering 79% of all distributed PV systems installed nationally through year-end 2020.

A new project between Richland County School District One and Schneider Electric is projected to reduce the district’s energy bill by nearly 73% when completed next year.  

Pine Gate Renewables announced the financing of Beulah Solar, its 20th project in South Carolina, which will bring 101MWdc/74.98MWac of renewable energy to Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. Located in Saluda and Lexington Counties, Beulah Solar will provide enough electricity to power approximately 23,000 homes in the area each year, through a 10-year power purchase agreement with Dominion Energy South Carolina. The project is expected to begin delivering power to the grid next month.

A solar farm planned for a 2,000-acre timber tract in rural Georgetown County will be the largest in the state, the Planning Commission was told last month.

The project being developed for Santee Cooper by Silicon Ranch, a Tennessee company, will generate 200 megawatts of electricity from about 600,000 solar panels.
