  • Ecoplexus, a leading global solar energy company, today announced plans to establish a new solar farm operation in Newberry County. The company is investing $89 million into the project.

  • A solar farm planned for a 2,000-acre timber tract in rural Georgetown County will be the largest in the state, the Planning Commission was told last month.

    The project being developed for Santee Cooper by Silicon Ranch, a Tennessee company, will generate 200 megawatts of electricity from about 600,000 solar panels.

  • Pine Gate Renewables announced the financing of Beulah Solar, its 20th project in South Carolina, which will bring 101MWdc/74.98MWac of renewable energy to Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. Located in Saluda and Lexington Counties, Beulah Solar will provide enough electricity to power approximately 23,000 homes in the area each year, through a 10-year power purchase agreement with Dominion Energy South Carolina. The project is expected to begin delivering power to the grid next month.
